Holiday Destination 2024: Leave the ice on your drive, and look for ice in your drinks on the beaches of the Maldives

The dry season is from November through March and is the best time to visit the Maldives. That is a small window to experience the grand beauty of little islands in an enormous ocean. What is your pace for an island holiday?

I could find a peaceful beach and dissolve into eternity while dozing in the breeze and ocean white noise. A slow-paced vacation makes me feel relaxed the entire trip, not only at the spa, or beach. Empty your mental schedule, and delete your checklists to experience this destination.

Glide gently about on a guided snorkelling safari through the lush reefs. Getting to know the variety of fish is getting to know the culture here. The Tamil, and Sinhalese from southern India are thought to be the first settlers here. Many nations used it as a waypoint, fishing field, and trading post across centuries. Those fishers needed to eat, and their variety of recipes lived on.

The spectrum of fish and their flavours can be found on a beach grill or served in fine dining Maldives style. Your resort will be proud to present wonderful samosa and soups loaded with smoked tuna or reef fish cutlets, a banana flower salad, a Maldivian lobster course, and complete your meal experience with cassava cake to satiate your cravings.

I would add an after-dinner coffee, or espresso martini because the club options and bar hopping are not in shortage in a place where nearly everything is imported. Once night make time to attend the jungle cinema, and another for crab races to make some eternal memories during your brief stay.

There is no shortage of activities to engage in, if you’re not the all-day lounging or sunbathing type. This archipelago is made up of 1200 fairyland islands and the bioluminescence is known as the Sea of Stars as the glow radiates off of the glistening ocean and white sand.

More natural variety awaits you in the vast mangrove forests. They filter the water resulting in unparalleled ocean clarity and provide the juvenile reef inhabitants a safe place to school. Paddleboard or kayak to your heart’s content while catching glimpses of the fluttering Kanbili, the national bird of the Maldives.

Will you be able to capture a photo of the Maldives exclusive moths, whose names I can barely pronounce? What an amazing eco-tourism, peaceful spa getaway, and five-star luxury destination.

The recent tourism development symposium was held to develop southern island areas for easier tourist access to Fuvahmula and Addu cities, and Huvadhu Atoll. Industry experts and investors gathered to discuss strategies and concerns. Travel facilities like airports, seaports, and piers to accommodate construction materials and later tourists must all be built with the utmost attention to the environment that draws people here.

I like rain. I accept it is part of a tropical location. Visiting on the shoulder seasons of peak season may be wetter, but it will be less occupied and less expensive for airline tickets, reservations, food, and drink. Every drop of rain falls for a reason. That reason is for you to swim in them, off of the Maldives.
